Littlestar Chips In on Playground Project

Loves Park – The management team of Littlestar Plastics joined several other groups Friday, Sept. 8, to build two playgrounds for the Northeast Family YMCA campus.

Littlestar is one of the top plastics manufacturers in the country, with the rare ability to design and manufacture components, parts or assemblies through fabrication, machining and injection molding. For this fun project, however, Littlestar’s management team simply helped with the assembly.

Kids Around the World oversaw the construction of the playgrounds. One is specifically for children up to preschool ages, the other for 6- to 12-year-olds. The playgrounds were made possible by support from the Berry family, United Technologies Corp., the Reno Family Foundation and the Rockford Park District.

The YMCA is always looking for more volunteers. If you are interested, please contact Melissa Burns of the YMCA at 815-885-6844.
